corol bay, cyprus |
Situated 11 kilometres north of Paphos town, this bay has one of the longest and finest stretches of golden sand in the area. Because of this, a small resort has grown up around the bay and the beach can get very busy at peak times. The bay is home to numerous costal hotels with their own private beaches. However, Coral Bay is also blessed with a public-access beach approximately 600 metres and hemmed in by a pair of headlands, with snack bars and sunbed-rental places behind.
In the hills overlooking Coral Bay is the fast expanding village of Pegeia, which is recorded in a Cypriot folk song thanks to its village spring, To Vrysi, and is notable for half a dozen excellent tavernas in and around its square.
Recommendation:
Another great day by the beach can be assured.
