skarinou village & places of interest |
|

Skarinou is a typical picturesque Cypriot village located off the main arterial motorway between Larnaka and Limassol. Sited on the hillside of the plush Ayios Theodoros Valley, the village is dominated by its church which holds a central position.
Once a staging-post on the old Larnaca-Limassol road the narrow streets and stone built houses are home to Cypriot families and an increasing number of holidaymakers wishing to experience village life in a number of gites which are advertised to rent.
Since joining the European Union in 2004, the village is slowly expanding with modern new homes for residential and the emerging tourist market. Skarinou is a very popular tourist base for UK, Dutch and German families in particular, but not exclusively as other Europeans and others discover the benefits Skarinou has to offer.
Local shopping
The village is served by a newly opened Orphanedes chain supermarket, a coffee shop and a McDonald’s outlet including a drive-through located at the motorway interchange. The supermarket offers an extensive range of commodities on your doorstep including fresh confectionaries, bread, fish and meat products (including cooked chickens). In old Skarinou there is a small convenience store, bank, restaurant/cafe and a few retail shops.
